Open Arms Garden

Our four goals

• Learn or Expand Gardening Skills • Bring People Together • Grow Our Community • Create Partnerships Between Organizations

Last Spring, we created a community garden in the backyard of Genesis House to help people better access fresh food. Our garden became the site for our four-part workshop series with Nebraska Extension of Butler County to teach and expand participants gardening skills. We want to thank all those who participated and hope for even more people to get involved next year. The fresh produce from our garden went on to feed 6 different families of Genesis House clients throughout the Summer, many individuals and families with a local Food Connection church program, and several others in need. Thank you for the support of our partners: Ace Hardware, Fox Run Farms, Pakarek Farms, and Nebraska Extension-Butler County.
